The proposals look very exciting indeed and I hope that really imaginative use can be made of existing features – the canal and the Reservoir embankment.
I would request that the ‘planners’ take responsibility for ensuring that the artists impressions are as realistic as possible. At present I believe that the illustration ‘Urban Family Housing’ and the (delightfully pastoral) ‘Waterspace’ show the canal as 2 or 3 times it’s actual width. Also if the embankment was at the inclination shown on ‘Edgbaston Reservoir’ it would probably extend almost to Ickniel Port Road.
(Unfortunately I am unable to be at the meeting on Saturday – only had 7 days notice – so if any response to this please e-mail me).

I am delighted to see that this imaginative proposal has been resurrected. I hoped to be involved in the original plan as, with my colleague, I have developed a zero-carbon emission canal boat (the Ross Barlow) which is propelled by a combination of batteries and a H2/O2 fuel cell. Details of this project are on the web site. It was proposed that, based on this very successful technology, a zero-carbon water-bus would provide transportation between the new development and the City Centre.

We are still very much involved in this project and would be very interested in exploring how we might still be involved.

I am interested in building a canal side property. Would you consider a private build as part of the proposal.
